CDRD Showcases Advanced Innovations at 'Sahasak Nimavum' 2025

The Centre for Defence Research and Development (CDRD), under the Ministry of Defence, showcased its latest technological advancements at the 'Sahasak Nimavum' International Invention and Innovation Exhibition 2025. The event, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission under the Ministry of Education, was held from 25 to 27 April 2025 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, BMICH, Colombo.
Demonstrating the critical intersection of defence innovation and national technological progress, CDRD collaborated with the Research and Development wings of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, and Air Force to present a range of groundbreaking projects. These initiatives reflect CDRD’s unwavering commitment to enhancing national defence capabilities while contributing to broader societal needs.
During the exhibition, CDRD presented some major developments: B-Vehicle Simulator Version II and 6-DOF Motion Platform, Small Arm Firing Simulator, New Electric Wheelchair Revolutionizes Mobility for the Differently Abled Smart Weather Station Enhances Real-Time Monitoring and Forecasting, Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle, Wild Animal Tranquilizer Dart Launcher, Indigenous UAV, Automated BMI Calculation Systems and etc.
CDRD’s active participation in 'Sahasak Nimavum' 2025 underscores its dedication to pushing the boundaries of technological innovation in Sri Lanka. Through continuous research and development, CDRD remains at the forefront of creating solutions that not only bolster national defence but also contribute to the nation's broader scientific and environmental goals.
