The CDRD, as the pivotal institution tasked with advancing Defence Research and Development initiatives,
has identified the need of blending with new technologies and new innovators. The research partnerships having
transparent intentions and forefront research proposals involved in the National Security of Sri Lanka are mostly
welcome to join hand with CDRD.
Whether you are a student or a freelancer innovator conducting
research in finding solutions for Security sensitive matters, we invite you to submit the details of your research area
for the assessment.The CDRD will carry out the assessment of your research idea (Innovation or Invention) and the same will be
forwarded to the Minstry of Defence with the recommendation of the Director General CDRD.It is ensured that your initiatives
will not be passed to a third party.
This concept is initiated to motivate the independent researchers to
overcome the following barriers with the assistance of CDRD
- a. Importing of sensitive devices/ equipment/ materials with the proper approval of Government authorities
(TRCSL, SL Custom, National Quarantine Service and etc.)
- b. Approval for the testing at any terrene in the Country.
- c. Supervision for the testing
- d. Assistance for the further improvement
- e. Protection for the research works and peripherls related to the research

Instruction for forwading of research details
- a. The research must be related National Security
- b. Provide description of your research idea (Invention or Innovation)
- c. Agree to coordinate with the CDRD
- d. Agree to sign an agreement with the CDRD
- e. Download the Application through CDRD web site
- f. Hardcopy of the duly completed application is to be sent to CDRD for the assesment
