Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc visited the Centre for Research and Development, Ministry of Defence on 18th March 2020. This is his first visit to the CRD; the premier National Defence Research & Development Centre of the country, after assuming office as the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.

On arriving the CRD, Secretary Defence was welcomed by the Director General of the CRD, Major General (Retd) Renuka Rowel RWP VSV USP ndu USACGSC. After a short presentation and discussion, Secretary was briefed by the Director General and Project Officers on the ongoing projects at CRD with a demonstration.

Addressing the CRD Staff at the conference hall, Secretary Defence appreciated the research and development work carried out by CRD so far and conveyed his gratitude to the Director General and staff for their untiring efforts. He also wished CRD all the very best in all future endeavors while emphasizing the fact that he will continue to support the research and development work of CRD in the future as well.

An exchange of mementos was also done to mark this historical occasion and the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence also placed his signature in the Visitor’s book as well.
